A project to create the largest reference collection relating to all aspects of herbalism ever assembled. It uses new technology to relate scientific material with knowledge from traditional herbals. Text and graphics are interrelated. It covers Plant Taxonomy, Preparation of Herbal products (medicines, toiletries), Culinary uses, Plant Isolates and their Biochemistry, Diseases and Conditions, Contra-indications, side-effects, and interactions with Pharmaceutical Medicines, Cultivation and Trade in Herbal Products, Historical and regional Usage.
This is a major project which is currently seeking participants, sponsorship and funding. It will be relevant to companies, organisations, and individuals interested in the following:
- rapid reference for product development and technical support
- commercial software for knowledge bases
- establishing a scientific basis for herbalism
- a reference tool for training and practise of herbalism
